The transformation of the Dana Indonesiana program into Dana IndonesiaRaya, an endowment fund dedicated to culture, has been described as a strategic initiative to fortify the nation’s cultural ecosystem. Lestari Mordijat, Deputy Chair of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), commended the launch, highlighting it as a reflection of the government’s dedication to not only financial support but also establishing adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable governance within the cultural sphere.
The program has seen a significant increase in its reach and financial impact. Data indicates that the number of beneficiaries rose from 346 in 2024 to 2,117 in 2025, out of approximately 7,000 proposals submitted. By March 31, 2026, the total number of beneficiaries had further increased to 3,036, with total disbursements reaching Rp594 billion. This substantial growth underscores the high demand among cultural practitioners nationwide.
With the fund currently holding Rp6 trillion, Mordijat emphasized the critical need for expanded promotion of Dana IndonesiaRaya. She advocated for extensive outreach efforts to ensure the program reaches grassroots communities and a broader spectrum of cultural actors across the country. To achieve this, she suggested that the Ministry of Culture collaborate with strategic partners, including Cultural Preservation Centers and local governments.
The renaming of the fund from Dana Indonesiana to Dana IndonesiaRaya signifies strengthened governance, expanded program coverage, and enhanced service quality for those working in the cultural sector. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon officially launched the Dana IndonesiaRaya program on Thursday, April 2.
