PT Mitra Stania Prima (MSP), a subsidiary of Arsari Tambang, has received the highest environmental recognition from the government, securing the PROPER Gold rating from the Environment Ministry. This accolade underscores the company’s dedication to balancing industrial development with robust environmental protection and enhancing community welfare.

Alongside the company’s achievement, Arsari Tambang President Director Aryo P. S. Djojohadikusumo was presented with the Green PROPER Leadership award. These honors acknowledge MSP’s exemplary environmental management, innovative social initiatives, and operational performance that consistently surpasses regulatory requirements under the government’s PROPER evaluation system.

Company officials reported that a tangible benefit for local communities has been improved air quality, reflecting a firm commitment towards achieving net-zero emissions, including the prevention of air and water pollution. Aryo P. S. Djojohadikusumo stated that nearby residents have already experienced positive environmental improvements, and the company intends to further strengthen these outcomes.

Looking ahead, MSP is preparing to implement additional sustainability measures, including a full transition to renewable energy at its smelter facilities. The company aims to achieve 100 percent renewable energy utilization at its smelter by the coming year, framing this as a core element of its broader environmental strategy.

The commitment to sustainability is also set to expand from downstream processing to upstream mining operations. The company’s mining unit currently holds a PROPER Green rating, with aspirations to elevate it to Gold through the introduction of zero-emission heavy equipment and the electrification of production processes.

Aryo P. S. Djojohadikusumo emphasized that maintaining high environmental standards demands strong corporate integrity and a long-term commitment. He affirmed that the company’s ultimate goal is to prevent environmental pollution, not merely to accumulate awards, stressing that integrity is a non-negotiable principle. The PROPER program is a government initiative managed by the Environment Ministry to assess corporate environmental compliance and sustainability performance.
