Jakarta – Indonesia has launched a new pocket guide designed to help the public better understand and access the nation’s welfare programs for 2026. The publication, titled “0% Pocket Book: Benefits and Beneficiaries of Welfare Support 2026,” consolidates various government aid schemes into a single, integrated resource, Presidential Staff Chief Muhammad Qodari announced in Jakarta.
Mr. Qodari stated that the guide’s primary objective is to simplify access and comprehension of the government’s diverse support initiatives for citizens. He highlighted a policy approach that views welfare as continuous support throughout an individual’s life cycle, beginning from pregnancy through old age, rather than a series of one-off interventions.
The guide details programs such as the Family Hope Program (PKH), staple food assistance, electricity subsidies, and various forms of business support. It also includes the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) initiative, Free Health Check-ups (CKG), Sekolah Rakyat schools, and subsidies for National Health Insurance (JKN) premiums.
A core component of these efforts is the integration of all programs through the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) system. This system is intended to enhance data accuracy, prevent overlapping in aid distribution, and ensure that assistance is delivered more effectively to its intended beneficiaries.
Mr. Qodari emphasized that the 2026 welfare programs are conceived to be integrated and sustainable, aiming for a direct positive impact on communities. The government’s broader ambition is not only to provide immediate assistance but also to build a foundation for healthier, better-educated, and more productive citizens. This initiative forms part of wider efforts to strengthen social protection and improve public service delivery across the country.
In a related development, Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf met with Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on April 6 to review the progress of the Sekolah Rakyat program and coordinate the distribution of social assistance. Minister Yusuf reported positive developments in the Sekolah Rakyat program, particularly regarding student achievements at both national and international levels.
